Ok …. some pieces that I’ve tried to help teachers put in play.

-Making clear what the stakes are for each of these diverse individuals in any class.

-Each must get growth that suits their level of development

-Implication of above…. varied materials and lessons and enormous scope

     of teacher tracking and support. Necessarily …. a greater involvement of 

     parents , a lesser domination of “one size fits all” text books as the controlling

     center of educational efforts by kids, parents and teacher.

-A really strong investment by teacher finding and supporting each student’s

     efforts at her/his next learnings on the developmental paths best suited

     to her/his developmental needs and interests.

All of the above requires an organizational and curricular and  “growth measurement” capacity that is far beyond what is ordinarily demonstrated

in the classoroom.
